Need for assistance - Housing tenure

In the City of Burnside 78.8% of people reporting a need for assistance were in households who were purchasing or fully owned their home, 8.5% were renting privately, and 1.2% were in social housing in 2011.

Analysis of the housing tenure for people reporting a need for assistance in the City of Burnside in 2011 compared to Adelaide SD shows that there was a larger proportion of people with a need for assistance in households who owned their dwelling; a smaller proportion purchasing their dwelling; and a smaller proportion who were renters.

Overall, 61.6% of people reporting a need for assistance were in households who owned their dwelling; 17.2% were purchasing, and 10.9% were renting, compared with 42.2%, 20.9% and 31.6% respectively for Adelaide SD.
