More Division 4 male residents worked in agriculture, forestry and fishing than any other industry in 2021.

Division 4's industry statistics identify the industry sectors in which the residents work (which may be within the residing area or elsewhere). This will be influenced by the skill base and socio-economic status of the residents as well as the industries and employment opportunities present in the region.

When viewed in conjunction with Residents Place of Work data and Method of Travel to Work, industry sector statistics provide insights into the relationship between the economic and residential role of the area.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Division 4 in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (280 males or 14.9%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (200 males or 10.7%)
  • Construction (197 males or 10.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 677 males in total or 36.1% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Bundaberg Regional Council employed 13.3% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 8.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 13.5% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Division 4 and Bundaberg Regional Council were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in accommodation and food services (8.0% compared to 5.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in construction (10.5% compared to 13.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in mining (1.8% compared to 3.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in manufacturing (7.3% compared to 9.3%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed males in Division 4 increased by 281 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest change in the jobs held by the male resident population between 2016 and 2021 in Division 4 was for those employed in:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (+50 males)
