Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Bundaberg Regional Council in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (5,811 females or 30.1%)
- Education and Training (2,445 females or 12.7%)
- Retail Trade (2,354 females or 12.2%)
In combination, these three industries employed 10,610 females in total or 54.9% of the total employed female resident population.
In comparison, Australia employed 23.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.2% in Education and Training; and 10.6% in Retail Trade.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Bundaberg Regional Council and Australia were:
- A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (30.1% compared to 23.3%)
- A larger percentage of females employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (6.6% compared to 1.5%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed in professional, scientific and technical services (3.5% compared to 7.3%)
