Dominant groups

Analysis of the ancestry responses of the population in Hamilton in 2011 shows that the top five ancestries nominated were:

  • English (1,771 people or 37.5%)
  • Australian (1,365 people or 28.9%)
  • Irish (861 people or 18.2%)
  • Scottish (575 people or 12.2%)
  • German (224 people or 4.7%)
