Name origin

Middle Park was named to describe its location, the middle of the Centenary Estates development area.

Settlement history

Development of the area dates primarily from the late 1950s, although growth was minimal until the 1970s. Rapid growth took place during the early 1990s. The population declined slightly from the mid 1990s, a result of little change in dwelling stock and a decline in the average number of persons living in each dwelling.
