Name origin

Doolandella is named from an Aboriginal word for the geebung tree.

Settlement history

Settlement of the area dates from the 1880s, although land remained largely rural until the 1990s. Rapid growth took place from the early 1990s, a result of large numbers of new dwellings being added to the area, from Delfin's Forest Lake estate.
