In Derrimut, 74% of households were purchasing or fully owned their home, 18.3% were renting privately, and 1.6% were in social housing in 2016.

Dominant groups

Analysis of the housing tenure of the population of Derrimut in 2016 compared to City of Brimbank shows that there was a smaller proportion of households who owned their dwelling; a larger proportion purchasing their dwelling; and a smaller proportion who were renters.

Overall, 11.5% of the population owned their dwelling; 62.2% were purchasing, and 19.9% were renting, compared with 33.7%, 32.6% and 24.9% respectively for City of Brimbank.
