Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Sydenham District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,008 females or 18.9%)
  • Retail Trade (1,445 females or 13.6%)
  • Education and Training (1,354 females or 12.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,807 females in total or 45.4% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, the City of Brimbank employed 19.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.2% in Retail Trade; and 10.3% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the Sydenham District and the City of Brimbank were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in education and training (12.8% compared to 10.3%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (13.6% compared to 12.2%)
