Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Sydenham District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (2,065 males or 17.4%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (1,577 males or 13.3%)
  • Manufacturing (1,248 males or 10.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,890 males in total or 41.2% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, the City of Brimbank employed 14.8% in Construction; 13.2% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 12.0% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of the Sydenham District and the City of Brimbank were:
