Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Sydenham District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Retail Trade (2,475 people or 11.0%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,468 people or 11.0%)
  • Construction (2,355 people or 10.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 7,298 people in total or 32.5% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Brimbank employed 10.2% in Retail Trade; 11.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 9.1% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the Sydenham District and the City of Brimbank were:
