Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Sunshine in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (566 people or 12.8%)
  • Education and Training (379 people or 8.6%)
  • Retail Trade (362 people or 8.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,307 people in total or 29.5% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Brimbank employed 11.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 6.4% in Education and Training; and 10.2% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Sunshine and the City of Brimbank were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in education and training (8.6% compared to 6.4%)
