Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Derrimut in 2016 compared to City of Brimbank shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 57.3% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 12.1% were one-parent families, compared with 37.6% and 14.6% respectively for City of Brimbank.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 8.0% compared to 17.5% in City of Brimbank while the proportion of couples without children was 15.1% compared to 20.2% in City of Brimbank.
