Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Hawthorn in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (5,627 people or 42.7%)
  • Managers (2,257 people or 17.1%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (1,509 people or 11.4%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 9,393 people in total or 71.3% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Balwyn North employed 35.4% in Professionals; 19.5% in Managers; and 13.0% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Hawthorn and Balwyn North were:
