Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of males in the City of Boroondara compared to the City of Boroondara shows that there was a higher proportion of males who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 4.8% of the male population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 3.7% for the City of Boroondara.

The major differences in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance in Camberwell and the City of Boroondara were:

  • A larger percentage of males aged 85 and over (50.9% compared to 43.9%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 75 to 79 (16.8% compared to 11.6%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 80 to 84 (25.7% compared to 21.8%)
