Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the Punjabi speaking resident population in Blacktown City in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Machinery Operators And Drivers (2,930 people or 26.9%)
- Professionals (1,837 people or 16.9%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (1,369 people or 12.6%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 6,136 people in total or 56.4% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, New South Wales employed 21.6% in Machinery Operators And Drivers; 18.4% in Professionals; and 11.9% in Community and Personal Service Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the Punjabi speaking population of Blacktown City and New South Wales were:
- A larger percentage of people employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (26.9% compared to 21.6%)
