Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Marayong in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (472 people or 14.9%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (342 people or 10.8%)
  • Retail Trade (324 people or 10.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,138 people in total or 35.9% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Blacktown City employed 14.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.1% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 10.0% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Marayong and Blacktown City were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in transport, postal and warehousing (10.8% compared to 8.1%)
