Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Marayong in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (472 people or 14.9%)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing (342 people or 10.8%)
- Retail Trade (324 people or 10.2%)
In combination, these three industries employed 1,138 people in total or 35.9% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Blacktown City employed 14.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.1% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 10.0% in Retail Trade.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Marayong and Blacktown City were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in transport, postal and warehousing (10.8% compared to 8.1%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (5.7% compared to 7.4%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in financial and insurance services (4.7% compared to 6.4%)
