Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Doonside in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (896 people or 17.1%)
  • Retail Trade (536 people or 10.2%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (506 people or 9.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,938 people in total or 36.9% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Blacktown City employed 14.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.0% in Retail Trade; and 8.1% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.
