Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Blacktown City in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (10,924 males or 11.8%)
  • Construction (10,288 males or 11.1%)
  • Manufacturing (8,971 males or 9.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 30,183 males in total or 32.6% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Mount Druitt Precinct employed 14.3% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; 11.2% in Construction; and 12.5% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Blacktown City and Mount Druitt Precinct were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (8.3% compared to 4.7%)
