Dominant groups

In 2021, there were 20,147 separate houses in the area, 2,913 medium density dwellings, and 2,029 high density dwellings.

Analysis of the types of dwellings in Ward 2 in 2021 shows that 80.2% of all dwellings were separate houses; 11.6% were medium density dwellings, and 8.1% were in high density dwellings, compared with 79.8%, 13.9%, and 6.0% in the Blacktown City respectively.

In 2021, a total of 94.5% of the dwellings in Ward 2 were occupied on Census night, compared to 95.2% in Blacktown City. The proportion of unoccupied dwellings was 5.4%, which is larger compared to that found in Blacktown City (4.7%).

The total number of dwellings in Ward 2 increased by 2,788 between 2011 and 2021.

The largest changes in the type of dwellings found in Ward 2 between 2011 and 2021 were:
