Analysis of the car ownership of the households with recent arrivals in Blacktown City Council in 2021 compared to Greater Western Sydney Region shows that 94.5% of recent arrivals were in households who owned at least one car and 4.1% were not, compared with 87.4% and 10.6% respectively in Greater Western Sydney Region.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion who owned just one car, a larger proportion who owned two cars, and a larger proportion who owned three cars or more.
