Dominant groups
Analysis of the ancestry responses of the population in Ward 5 in 2021 shows that the top five ancestries nominated were:
- Australian (18,164 people or 21.3%)
- English (15,684 people or 18.4%)
- Indian (9,026 people or 10.6%)
- Filipino (7,886 people or 9.3%)
- Australian Aboriginal (5,086 people or 6.0%)
In combination these five ancestries account for 55,846 responses in total, or 65.55% of all responses.
The major differences between the ancestries of the population in Ward 5 and Blacktown City were:
- A larger percentage of people with Australian Aboriginal ancestry (6.0% compared to 2.7%)
- A larger percentage of people with Samoan ancestry (4.3% compared to 1.8%)
