Analysis of the household/family types of children aged 5 to 11 years in Blacktown City Council in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney, shows that there was a lower proportion of children aged 5 to 11 years in couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion in one-parent families. Overall, 79.3% of children aged 5 to 11 years were in couple families with child(ren), and 15.2% were in one-parent families, compared with 80.5% and 14.6% respectively for Greater Sydney.
There was a similar proportion of children aged 5 to 11 years in lone person households and a similar proportion in couples without children. Overall, the proportion of children aged 5 to 11 years in lone person households was 0.2% compared to 0.3% in Greater Sydney while the proportion of couples without children was 0.2% compared to 0.4% in Greater Sydney.
