Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Bendigo in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (631 people or 21.9%)
  • Education and Training (291 people or 10.1%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (280 people or 9.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,202 people in total or 41.8% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Greater Bendigo employed 19.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.7% in Education and Training; and 6.8% in Accommodation and Food Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Bendigo and the City of Greater Bendigo were:
