Dominant groups
Analysis of the language spoken at home by recent overseas arrivals in the City of Greater Bendigo in 2021 compared to Regional VIC shows that there was a smaller proportion of people who spoke English only, and a larger proportion of those speaking a non-English language (either exclusively, or in addition to English).
Overall, 17.1% of recent overseas arrivals spoke English only, and 81.3% spoke a non-English language, compared with 20.5% and 78.0% respectively for Regional VIC.
