Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Bayside Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (7,898 females or 19.3%)
  • Education and Training (4,426 females or 10.8%)
  • Retail Trade (4,190 females or 10.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 16,514 females in total or 40.3% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Bexley employed 20.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.6% in Education and Training; and 11.3% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Bayside Council area and Bexley were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (6.7% compared to 4.9%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in professional, scientific and technical services (9.6% compared to 8.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in education and training (10.8% compared to 12.6%)
