Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Bayside Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (5,954 males or 13.5%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (4,559 males or 10.3%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (4,471 males or 10.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 14,984 males in total or 33.9% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Greater Sydney employed 13.1% in Construction; 11.6% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 7.3% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Bayside Council area and Greater Sydney were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in transport, postal and warehousing (10.1% compared to 7.3%)
