Analysis of the service age groups of Hampton in 2016 compared to Hampton East (Moorabbin) Activity Centre shows that there was a higher proportion of people in the younger age groups (0 to 17 years) as well as a higher proportion of people in the older age groups (60+ years).
Overall, 25.5% of the population was aged between 0 and 17, and 20.8% were aged 60 years and over, compared with 23.0% and 15.9% respectively for Hampton East (Moorabbin) Activity Centre.
The major differences between the age structure of Hampton and Hampton East (Moorabbin) Activity Centre were:
