Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by recent overseas arrivals in Bathurst Regional Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (137 persons or 30.7%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (74 persons or 16.6%)
- Labourers (61 persons or 13.7%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 272 people in total or 61.0% of the employed recent overseas arrivals.
In comparison, Regional NSW employed 21.5% in Professionals; 15.9% in Community and Personal Service Workers; and 24.4% in Labourers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the recent overseas arriving population of Bathurst Regional Council area and Regional NSW were:
- A larger percentage of people employed as Professionals (30.7% compared to 21.5%)
- A larger percentage of people employed as Sales Workers (9.6% compared to 6.4%)
- A smaller percentage of people employed as Labourers (13.7% compared to 24.4%)
