Analysis of the language spoken at home by recent overseas arrivals in Bathurst Regional Council in 2021 compared to Regional NSW shows that there was a smaller proportion of people who spoke English only, and a larger proportion of those speaking a non-English language (either exclusively, or in addition to English).

Overall, 21.8% of recent overseas arrivals spoke English only, and 77.4% spoke a non-English language, compared with 24.2% and 73.6% respectively for Regional NSW.

The dominant language spoken at home by recent overseas arrivals, other than English, in Bathurst Regional Council was Nepali, with 13.4% of the population, or 97 people speaking this language at home.
