Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Phillip Island in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (733 people or 13.3%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (689 people or 12.5%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (604 people or 10.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,026 people in total or 36.7% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Bass Coast Shire employed 12.9% in Construction; 14.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 8.2% in Accommodation and Food Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Phillip Island and Bass Coast Shire were:
