Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Bass Coast Mainland in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,750 people or 15.9%)
  • Construction (1,394 people or 12.7%)
  • Retail Trade (1,199 people or 10.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,343 people in total or 39.6% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Bass Coast Shire employed 14.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.9% in Construction; and 10.4% in Retail Trade.
