Dominant groups

Analysis of individual income levels in Rural Balance in 2021 compared to Bass Coast Shire shows that there was a higher proportion of people earning a high income (those earning $2,000 per week or more) and a lower proportion of low income people (those earning less than $500 per week).

Overall, 7.6% of the population earned a high income, and 32.8% earned a low income, compared with 6.9% and 37.1% respectively for Bass Coast Shire.
