Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Yagoona in 2011 compared to Bankstown City shows that there was a similar proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 41.0% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 13.7% were one-parent families, compared with 40.6% and 14.3% respectively for Bankstown City.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 19.8% compared to 19.2% in Bankstown City while the proportion of couples without children was 17.2% compared to 18.5% in Bankstown City.
