Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in the Shire of Ashburton in 2021 compared to Onslow shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a similar proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 21.9% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 3.6% were one-parent families, compared with 15.4% and 3.7% respectively for Onslow.
