Analysis of the household/family types in Armadale in 2021 compared to Harrisdale shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 16.5% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 16.5% were one-parent families, compared with 56.4% and 9.9% respectively for Harrisdale.
There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 34.7% compared to 10.6% in Harrisdale while the proportion of couples without children was 19.6% compared to 18.8% in Harrisdale.
