Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Alexandrina Council in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,795 people or 15.7%)
  • Construction (1,208 people or 10.5%)
  • Retail Trade (1,120 people or 9.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,123 people in total or 36.0% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional SA employed 13.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 7.9% in Construction; and 9.5% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Alexandrina Council and Regional SA were:
