Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types of non-English speakers in Albury City in 2021 compared to the total population in Albury City shows that there was a higher proportion of non-English speakers in couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion in one-parent families. Overall, 57.6% of non-English speakers were in couple families with child(ren), and 10.3% were one-parent families, compared with 41.0% and 14.1% respectively for the total population in Albury City.

There were a lower proportion of non-English speakers in lone person households and a lower proportion in couples without children. Overall, the proportion of non-English speakers in lone person households was 7.3% compared to 13.6% in the total population in Albury City while the proportion in couples without children was 18.2% compared to 22.1% in the total population in Albury City.
