Dominant groups

Analysis of the service age groups of CAD East in 2021 compared to the City of Adelaide shows that there was a lower proportion of people in the younger age groups (0 to 17 years) as well as a lower proportion of people in the older age groups (60+ years).

Overall, 4.5% of the population was aged between 0 and 17, and 14.8% were aged 60 years and over, compared with 6.8% and 19.6% respectively for the City of Adelaide.

The major differences between the age structure of CAD East and the City of Adelaide were:

  • A larger percentage of 'Tertiary education & independence' (31.0% compared to 22.8%)
