Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Upper North Adelaide in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (431 females or 39.8%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (181 females or 16.7%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (168 females or 15.5%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 780 females in total or 72.0% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, the City of Adelaide employed 36.1% in Professionals; 15.9% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 17.4% in Community and Personal Service Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Upper North Adelaide and the City of Adelaide were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Professionals (39.8% compared to 36.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (2.5% compared to 4.5%)
