Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City South in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (971 people or 38.9%)
  • Managers (330 people or 13.2%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (314 people or 12.6%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,615 people in total or 64.6% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Lower North Adelaide employed 38.2% in Professionals; 16.2% in Managers; and 11.3% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of City South and Lower North Adelaide were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (8.9% compared to 4.9%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (12.6% compared to 11.3%)
