There were more professionals in CAD East in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in CAD East in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (669 people or 38.8%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (243 people or 14.1%)
  • Managers (228 people or 13.2%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,140 people in total or 66.2% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Lower North Adelaide employed 38.2% in Professionals; 14.2% in Community and Personal Service Workers; and 16.2% in Managers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of CAD East and Lower North Adelaide were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (7.5% compared to 4.9%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Labourers (5.8% compared to 3.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed as Managers (13.2% compared to 16.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed as Sales Workers (6.6% compared to 7.8%)

The number of employed people in CAD East increased by 744 between 2016 and 2021.
