Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of people in the City of Adelaide compared to City South shows that there was a higher proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 3.4% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 2.5% for City South.

The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in the City of Adelaide and City South were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 5 to 9 (5.8% compared to 0.0%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 65 to 69 (5.1% compared to 2.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 85 and over (46.0% compared to 57.1%)
