Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Ashmont in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (238 people or 18.3%)
- Retail Trade (172 people or 13.2%)
- Construction (104 people or 8.0%)
In combination, these three industries employed 514 people in total or 39.6% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Glenfield Park employed 21.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.7% in Retail Trade; and 8.3% in Construction.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Ashmont and Glenfield Park were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in retail trade (13.2% compared to 10.7%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (7.5% compared to 5.6%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (18.3% compared to 21.5%)
