An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Wagga Wagga City in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (5,957 people or 17.9%)
- Education and Training (3,532 people or 10.6%)
- Public Administration and Safety (3,280 people or 9.9%)
In combination, these three industries employed 12,769 people in total or 38.4% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Forest Hill - East Wagga Wagga employed 12.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 5.2% in Education and Training; and 31.9% in Public Administration and Safety.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Wagga Wagga City and Forest Hill - East Wagga Wagga were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (17.9% compared to 12.1%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in education and training (10.6% compared to 5.2%)
