Dominant groups
Analysis of the Italian speaking population in the City of Ryde in 2021 compared to North Sydney Council area shows that there was a lower proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) and a higher proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 6.6% of the Italian speaking population was aged between 0 and 14, and 43.2% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 11.5% and 14.9% respectively for North Sydney Council area.
The major differences between the age groups of the Italian speaking population in the City of Ryde and North Sydney Council area were:
- A larger percentage of people aged 85 and over (11.1% compared to 3.8%)
